Play in OccupatinalTherapy for Children
Gilmore Kids Therapy chooses to focus on the importance of play in evaluating and treating children with disabilities. Our treatment aims on helping kids with physical, sensory or cognitive disability to help them achieve independence in all areas of their lives while enhancing their self-esteem and sense of accomplishment. Therapy doesn’t have to be a tedious and boring session. When kids are having fun ,they are more likely to maintain focus on the task and their fine motor skills actually progress toward the planned goals more efficiently. Cookies or cupcake decorating, playdough and putty, crumpling, wheelbarrow walking, Gilmore is never short of ideas to develop either bilateral hand use, fine motor control, core strength, visual pereption and so on. All activities are puposeful and expertly handled by Gilmore Occupational Therapist.
